Unmetered bandwidth among new AudioAcrobat features

AudioAcrobat, the company that’s heads above Armin Morin’s Audio Generator, particulalry when it comes to customer service, will be offering several new features including unlimited bandwidth for podcasters and anyone else who wants to record audio and even video for their websites.

This is great news for Publicity Hounds who host podcasts and use video at their websites. It means they no longer have to worry about running up additional charges to upload those big MP3 files. If you use AudioAcrobat, the files reside on AudioAcrobat’s server, not yours, so bandwidth isn’t an issue.

Unmetered means “unmeasured” in terms of usage. It means that AudioAcrobat supplies as much bandwidth as you need. AudioAcrobat buys and allocates bandwidth like most hosting and streaming services do—in large chunks commonly called “pipes.” The more pipes purchased, the better the cost. It’s a function of supply and demand and pure economics at play.

Users can find their budgets strained on metered (measured) bandwidth plans when it comes to streaming media files such as audio and video. Audio and video inherently use more bandwidth than simple data such as text and images.

Podcasting and video broadcasting, for example, can use very high levels of bandwidth in a relatively short period of time.

AudioAcrobat offers a choice of plans. Podcasting and video are offered only on unmetered bandwidth plans so that members can sleep with both eyes closed without worrying about high bandwidth costs.
