Social media time-saver: Turn a LinkedIn Q&A into a video

Stop spending precious time creating original content for all your social media sites.

Here’s a valuable shortcut—a quick way to use expertise you’ve already shared with somebody, and turn it into a video.

Several months ago, on LinkedIn, I answered a question about all the ways an author could use Twitter to promote a book. I copied and pasted my bulleted list and turned it into a post for this blog: Social networking ROI: A testimonial more valuable than an ad.

Then I took that list, pared it down, and bought some stock photos. I combined the photos with text to create a video, using Animoto, a program I love that turns your still photos and text into slick videos. I’ve written about Animoto here.

Here’s my Animoto video on how to use Twitter to market your book:

Next, I’ll take the video and post it to my YouTube channel. Then I’ll share it with my Facebook Fans. Failing to create Fan Pages on Facebook, by the way, is a major missed opportunity, because Fan Pages are the only place Facebook allows you to promote. You can also have an unlimited number of Fans. Read about other missed opportunities on Facebook

And then I’ll tweet about it, leading my Twitter followers to this blog.

There are countless other ways to recycle content, but you get the idea.  If you’re writing a string of tweets about a particular topic, can they be turned into article for EzineArticles.com? Can that article then be turned into a video?

When you find yourself creating content for social media sites, stop and ask yourself: How many ways you can milk the cow that’s already in the barn?

Intesting and a wake up call for webmaster to promote their website. I love this sentence “how many ways you can milk the cow that’s already in the barn?” Loved it.

I’ve see people writing numerous articles and submit to EZ daily. It’s a hard to twist the same article and submit to EZ daily. I love the way you market your products by going over to facebook fans, turn the articles into video and submit to video site. Have learned a lession. Thanks.

I think there are too much information about how to get more followers in Twitter but I haven’t found something good about how to monetize those followers. Otherwise, form a business perspective, it is not worth while. Any ideas on a good guide?

If you stick with it, and you share helpful information that peoplke want and need, you can monetize Twitter, but it takes time.

You must first attract the right followers and then give people time to know, like and trust you. Warren Whitlock gae fabulous tips when he was my guest on two teleseminars last summer on “How to Use Twitter to Amass an Army of Followers, Customers & Valuable Contacts–and Promote.” You can learn more about it at http://publicityhound.com/publicity-products/marketing-tapes/twitter.htm

    Hey,

Great tips. You can also use a service called TubeMogul to syndicate this video and automatically submit it to your video sites. Will bring in more traffic and get the word out there!

    Thanks for the post!

Once you make the videos and send them out you bookmark them to a wide range of Web 2 sites using a free service called onlywire. I use it all the time as its fast and effective. There´s another service available called Social Marker which is also effective.
Cant wait to try Animoto, your video looks great!

Animoto is a great service and helps make any video more professional… You are right on about recycling content!

Wow, what a great post with so much information. I have to admit that I’m fairly new to online marketing, but I do appreciate the tips and have bookmarked this site to come back and reread everything. I also write horror fiction (self-published my first book in 2000) and I certainly didn’t have all things things available to me at that time. Thanks again for all the info. You rock!!!

I’ve used Animoto before and I think it is a great service. It makes creating videos fast and easy. Syndicating your content by turning them into videos is pure genius. Thanks!

I actually never knew about the Facebook Fans page. This is probably because to date, I’ve avoided jumping on the Facebook bandwagon. I always saw Facebook as a lot of work for very little retunr, but perhaps I will give it a second look!

    Thanks for the information.
