NewsBios website wants you to nominate your favorite journalist

Have a favorite journalist, or one you’d like to get to know better?

NewsBios, the subscription-based service that provides bios of print, broadcast and freelance journalists from around the world, is taking nominations for journalists who are a credit to their profession.

Each week, the website will profile one or more journalists “who’ve demonstrated the best the profession has to offer.” That’s where you can nominate someone who’s reported on you, or someone who you admire. What a great way to get the attention of a reporter who covers your beat.

They claim they publish all nominations. So if your favorite journalist doesn’t win, you can at least tell them their nomination is online. Most journalists have grueling jobs and work for peanuts and being nominated would really make their day.

Just don’t gild the lilly or make it sound like apple-polishing.

If you decide not to subscribe, you can also find snippets from some of the actual bios.
