If you manage a restaurant, B&B, museum, amusement park or any other attraction that appeals to tourists, stop dreaming about getting free publicity and do what John Muller does.
John, general manager of Punderson Manor Resort at Punderson State Park in Newbury, Ohio, wants to know what his local tourism board is doing to drum up publicity for his resort and the surrounding area. So he volunteered to be on the board.
“All kinds of publicity has come our way as a result,” John says.
John, a true Publicity Hound, uses lots of other smart tactics. His resort
enters local food contests. Its English pudding with whiskey sauce won in the “best dessert” contest sponsored by the local YMCA.
He also invites food and travel writers to visit the resort. And he sponsors fun and events with food-related themes that pair favorites such as wine and chocolate.
These are only a few ideas we discussed during the teleseminar "Publicity Tips for Restaurants, Chefs & Foodies"
I did it with Jaime Oikle of RestaurantReport.com and we recorded it. When you order the CD, you’ll be able to download a handout of 51 story ideas that you can be reading in just a few minutes.
