Ideas needed to promote website for do-it-yourself divorces

Jackie Stanley of Greensboro, N.C. writes:

“I’m an attorney and recently launched a website which offers offers online courses that teach people how to handle their own simple divorce cases in North Carolina.

“It teaches people who want to save time, money and hassle how to handle their own simple divorce actions. There are lots of places to go online to get divorce papers. But we teach you to prepare the forms and walk you step-by-step through filing them and getting your divorced finalized.  We customize our courses to each of the 100 counties in the state.

“I’m hoping your Hounds could share some creative ways to promote the website.”

I would promote Divorce in an Economic Downturn. Feeling like you have to put everything off til the economy turns up. Well, if you were thinking of getting a divorce, save on attorney fees and learn how to go about it yourself at http://www.NCDivorceSchool.com. We can educate you on the legalese, your rights and help make this process go more smoothly. So if you contemplating divorce or you’ve already made up your mind it’s time to move on – check us out. Good luck!

Accountants. When one is considering a divorce, finances become a big issue. Having accountants able to refer your website (further saving them money) is a big benefit to their clients.

Women’s book clubs. Book clubs are as much about the books as they are about support.

Cost-compare what normally simple divorce costs vs. your program. Ideally, have independent (college?) lawyers/judges compare the divorce paperwork, validating your product’s effectiveness. Follow up with press releases on the savings.

Do research on cities that have the highest divorce rates. Target your efforts there first. You may want to consider marketing on sites that provide wedding information. In conclusion, make sure you get a MySpace page.

Press release or better yet write an article on getting a divorce “on the cheap”. and send it to the Business Journal! Start with the journal closest to you. It ‘could’ be picked up by additional business journals in the state or if not, submit it to some additional papers.
