Paulette Ensign, the Tips Booklet Queen, makes a great suggestion for Realtors, mortgage brokers and others who work in crowded markets, particularly where business is slowing right about now.
Market yourself with an informational tips booklet—your own booklet or somebody else’s. Paulette, for example, published the booklet “110 Ideas for Organizing Your Business Life.” It has sold more than 1 million copies in four different languages and would make the perfect give-away for Realtors and mortgage brokers.
Paulette’s home study courses also teach people how to publish their own booklets filled with how-to tips on almost any topic for almost any audience.
Tips booklets usually sell for about $5. But you can make big money selling them in bulk and even offering companies the option of including the message “Courtesy of the ABC Widget Co.” on the cover, for orders of 1,000 or more plus a small additional fee. I sold lots of my booklets in bulk when I published “113 Tips for Recruiting Valuable Employees” and “107 Tips for Keeping Valuable Employees.”
And, of course, booklets are small enough that they can be sent to the media. Invite journalists to excerpt tips of their choosing, in exchange for including information on how to order.
