A great way to promote your expertise is to write product reviews and submit them to online article directories, and to offline publications.
Christopher Knight of EzineArticles.com offers a template for a simple “pros and cons” article. The review simply lists the pros and cons of a product.
Lots of people write the popular “how to” articles, but few writers use the pros-and-cons approach. I like it because it’s different and because these articles can be very short. His template weighs it at only 206 words, which makes it a brief.
As I explained during the teleseminar I hosted on “Briefs, Fillers & Quizzes: How to Write Them and Why Editors Love Them,” briefs usually need little editing. They also fit odd-size holes on a page, which makes them more attractive to editors.
I commented at Chris’ blog and said writers should not use the “pro and con” approach when writing letters to the editor. Those require that you take a strong stand on an issue.

The “pro and con” approach works well with article directories like http://www.ezinearticles.com. It will not work well with targeted sites. They want you to take a stand on an issue, or provide a how-to, trends or top tips article. And, in most cases they want the articles to be around 500-750 words.
Yes, you want to post your articles on he directories to get links and eyeballs by thousands of publishers. But, more importantly you want to focus on the best websites and ezines that your audience is reading. Gaining link popularity is a bonus to me. That comes natural. My clients come to me to get more eyeballs by their targeted audience.

Another way to promote to the various article directory sites is to use Niche Private label Articles.
I rewrite them 3 – 4 times, making sure the paragraph numbers are the same and that the content is similar. Then when I submit them using some software it regenerates a new article everytime. Creating fresh content which the search engines love….

Imho a pros-and-cons approach is a good match especially for review type articles.
But i’m not sure if using a template would be a good idea …
Perhaps only for formal or structure reasons …
