If you’re a Facebook user, you might rely on email messages from Facebook, like I do, to let you know when someone has commented on your wall.
That’s a nice feature. But if you want to keep the conversation going, you have to drop what you’re doing, log into Facebook, and then respond to the comment. Thankfully, no more.
Facebook now allows you to reply to wall posts, status updates, photo comments and video via email.
When you receive an email notification about comments, you can just click “Reply” and start typing a comment at the top of the email. Then hit “Send” from your email and your reply will automatically be added as a comment on Facebook without you having to even log in.
That’s a really helpful change that will make it much easier for you to participte in more conversations more quickly.
To take advantage of this feature, your Facebook notification settings must be turned on. Log into your Facebook account and go to “Settings” in the upper right corner of your screen. Then click on “Notifications.” You can then check the appropriate boxes in the “Email” column, depending on how many emails you want Facebook to send to you.
This feature doesn’t work with direct messages. To respond to direct messages, you’ll still have to log into your Facebook account.
