The 14 most powerful words in marketing and publicity

Every time I send an email to the thousands of people on my list, or write an ezine article or marketing copy or a blog post, I refer to the tattered printout on my wall that lists the 14 Most Powerful, Effective Words in Marketing

The list is courtesy of Jeanne Hopkins of HubSpot, and Jamie Turner, CEO of social media and mobile marketing firm 60 Second Communications and the Founder of the 60 Second Marketer.

They included the list in the book they wrote, Go Mobile

Here are the 14 words that also can be used in your publicity campaign because they make people pay attention, click, read and sometimes even buy:

  1. Free
  2. Now
  3. You
  4. Save
  5. Money
  6. Easy
  7. Guarantee
  8. Health
  9. Results
  10. New
  11. Love
  12. Discovery
  13. Proven
  14. Safety

You can use these words in website copy, press release headlines, tweets, your bio, direct-mail pieces, your online press room, and in pitches to bloggers and journalists.

Kemya, thanks for stopping by. Those are my thoughts exactly! But don’t commit them to memory. Do what I do. Print them and hang them on your wall within easy site. I refer to mine almost daily.
