PR Web Canada a great way for fitness trainer to give advice to Canada’s portly prime minister

If you can be the local angle to a national story, you can have the media clamoring for your story, and PR Web Canada, the press release distribution service, is a great resource for spreading the word in Canada.

Catherine Pruissen, a personal fitness trainer in Canada, asked me how she can piggyback off recent news photos of Canada’s newly elected Prime Minister, Steven Harper, who was shown visiting the Canadian troops in Afghanistan over the weekend. Some photos showed him with a soda can in his hands while the troops were shown holding bottled water.

“One of the first thing I noticed when seeing the TV coverage of his visit was how out of shape he was for a man of his stature,” she said. “For the first time, Canadians are seeing the man without his suit and tie, and many, like myself, were surprised to see his huge midline.”

She’s says he’s a heart attack or stroke just waiting to happen. One newspaper even wrote a story with a headline that reads “Harper Battles the Bulge.”

“I would so love to jump on this and get something out to the press right away,” she said.

Here’s what I told her:

How about offering advice to the Prime Minister on how to get rid of the bulge? Submit it with your photo to an online news release distribution service like PR Web Canada. Pay the extra $40 or $80 to get wider distribution.

In fact, I like the headline: “Prime Minister Harper: A Heart Attack Waiting to Happen.”

The last paragraph should have your contact information including website URL and email address. This is the quickest way to get distribution.
